Blue Ox Weight Distribution & Sway Control Hitches
The Blue Ox SwayPro utilizes the latest in weight distributing technology, sometimes called an equlizer hitch. This is the weight distribution and sway control hitch you need to level your truck & trailer, giving you a better ride and sway control.
The rotating latches enable you to hook up spring bars quicker and with less hassle than the competition. Just lay the chain on the latch and rotate it to the locking position. These latches are available as Clamp-On or Bolt-On. The clamp on model latch slips on your trailer and is secured with a set bolt; this allows you to easily move it to different trailers. The bolt on model latch, you drill holes and bolt it to your trailer making it more permanent to your trailer. An example of which one to purchase, the model BXW0550 comes with a clamp on latch, the BXW0551 comes with a bolt on latch and the rest of the hitch is the same.
The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Hitch has the same head and accepts four different weight rating spring bars making this an exceptionally versatile weight distribution hitch. If you have two different weight rating trailers, you only have to purchase the spring bars to use it for the second trailer. The spring bars slide into the head, then rotated 90 degrees to lock them; no special tools are required for assembly or removing. The head joints are greased so you do not grease the spring bars like other hitches. Handling and storing the spring bars without grease on them is a big plus. The spring bars are round making them much more durable and they give a much smoother ride than other hitches. All bars are permanently marked for easy identification as to their weight rating.
The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Hitches enable you to hook up much quicker and with less hassle than traditional snap-up methods, and will improve the amount of clearance for enclosed trailer frames, propane bottles and battery compartments, all while allowing you to back up without disconnecting.

Blue Ox Weight Distribution Hitches come complete except for your towing ball. Use the ball size that matches your trailer coupler and the capacity must meet or exceed the gross trailer rating. Shank requirements are 1” or 1-1/4”. For 5” tall trailer tongue tubes use a 1” rise ball, for a 6” tall trailer tongue tube use a 2” rise ball.
Pick the model of weight distribution hitch that is close to your trailers maximum tongue weight. Your maximum trailer tongue weight is measured at the ball coupler with a fully loaded level trailer. It is important to use the correct hitch so you will have a smooth ride and it will not be hard on your trailer.
